Experience the Great Outdoors
Our family farm in Shropshire has been developed over the last 4 years alongside the Children's University for Staffordshire, Shropshire and Stoke and the Sensory Trust to provide a safe visitor experience for all age groups and abilities.
We welcome schools, clubs, societies and interest groups of all ages to the farm to use it as an educational resource.
To provide schools and colleges with the highest quality educational visits, we have undertaken training with the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) and the Sensory Trust through the Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF) project. Being CRB enhanced checked and undertaking training, means that your visit is well organised and enjoyable.
Our farm near Market Drayton, and our many Educational Programmes, are well-adapted to wheelchair users.
We also specialise in Sensory Visits specifically for children and people with special needs and/or learning and behavioural difficulties.
Children get to stroke the piglets
Our farm is readily accessible from Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire making it the ideal place to introduce students to the great outdoors!
We offer an indoor classroom (if needed), and have installed extra hand washing facilities and toilets.
We have a large coach park, and have made Park Hill Farm's historic pond safe for pond dipping with a covered dipping station and seating area.
Lunch is served on long trestle tables on our beautiful shaded lawn during the summer months, and we can supply a home made, free range barbecue.
How you can use the farm as a learning environment
A wide range of curriculum modules can be taught on our farm in Hales; these include The Importance of Healthy Eating and The-Gate-to-Plate experience.
Subjects like science, maths, the environment, food and farming, global warming, pollution, business studies, rural development, and marketing are all offered by us.
Like most of our visitors, smaller children can enjoy seeing the animals, feeding the lambs, pond dipping, and farm and woodland walks.
