Work Experience & Volunteering

We now offer work experience on our family farm for those wishing to work within the areas of animal care, food, farming and the environment.

Work experience and volunteering

Our farm near Market Drayton is ideal for offering work experience and volunteering opportunities throughout the year. Throughout the years we've worked closely with local schools in the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire counties to provide a taster of working life outdoors.

There are a wide range of physical and outdoor jobs that are undertaken on a day to day basis at the farm and seasonal work is undertaken as and when the season's demand.

Park Hill Farm is happy to welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities, and structures programmes to help build your confidence within the working world of agriculture in Shropshire.

The Good Life

We have now introduced short homestead courses at Park Hill Farm for those of you wishing to 'live the good life' and sustain your own green smallholding.   We can offer accommodation here, in Shropshire,  for a mid-week course of two days, and we also offer a one-day course.

Improve your CV with Volunteering

Voluntary Internship - History Graduate

We currently have a vacancy for someone interested to research the history of Park Hill Farm.  This will be quite demanding, and should result in some interesting finds.  If you think this would be of interest to you, then please let us know.  Our local records office will be in the county town of Stafford, so this vacancy may suit people living in the West Midlands and not wanting to travel to Market Drayton daily.   This has the opportunity to be internet based.

Voluntary Internship - Marketing/Business Studies Graduate

We also have a vacancy for a person with good internet skills to help us research a project and set the project up at Park Hill Farm.  In fact, we have 2 projects we would like some help with.   Both will give you valuable experiences and will feature on your CV as "volunteer internships".   With both projects being internet based, on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border it gives scope for volunteers to only meet with us two or three times a month, thus cutting down on travelling expenses.

Vacancy for a Saturday person

We are in need of someone to help us at weekends on the market stalls. If you are interested, send us your CV. Immediate start.

We Work with Schools

If you are a school teacher who has a student who would like a regular placement with us on the farm, then please get in touch with us to discuss this in detail.  We also take students for one week at a time, to gain experience in a wide variety of subjects, including veterinary, farming, animal welfare, and the environment.
