NEWSFLASH 3/2021 GLUTEN FREE SAUSAGES and Ingredients for traditional sausages

Dear Friends of Park Hill Farm.

 Following yesterday’s Newsflash, reference the possible sausage offer, we would like to thank you all for contacting us.   
Several questions were outstanding concerning the ingredient list – so I have detailed this below:-

Ingredient list:  Pork, Rusk, Wheat flour (Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Salt, Ammonium Bicarbonate (E503ii). Water, Seasoning, Salt, Preservatives: E221 (Sulphites), Flavour Enhancer:E621.

We also had several enquiries about Gluten free Sausages.  
Having spoken to the butcher today, providing we can sell 40 kg (5 x 8kg packs) of Gluten free sausages, he will make 40kg of GF sausages first, and then turn the rest into normal traditional sausages.  We are unlikely to get the GF ingredient list from the butcher, as he does not normally stock them, so will have to order them in, if we go ahead.  His only word of caution is that they are great to eat, but once frozen they don’t look as good as sausages with rusk etc.  So it’s a warning about how they look in the freezer!

Taking all this on board, please come back to me if you would like to “express your interest” in 8kg sausage packs, with or without gluten, for £5/kg.   Everyone who has expressed an interest in the traditional sausages are down on my list, but no  GF orders have been noted yet.    Once we have sold enough, we will come back to you asking you to place your order on the website, and then arrange a day to deliver them.  If we do not pre-sell enough, then the pig will be sold to a butcher instead.
